Today, we close out the top 5 of our “Rank the Room” series that has featured every position group for the Kansas football team. Let’s get into it!
This is Wave the Wheat, and here are 5 Things You Missed This Week.
5. Quarterbacks
That’s Jalon Daniels. And now that he has the maturity, experience and drive to go with it, it’s not hard to envision the 2024 season being his best yet.
4. Safeties
It’s not often a team loses a player as visible and vocal as a Kenny Logan Jr. and somehow stays strong at the position.
3. Cornerbacks
So, while going all the way to the cliché characterization of calling KU “Cornerback U” might be a little over the top, it’s certainly a fair way to view things for the 2024 season, as the Jayhawks are poised suit up two of the best at the position every week.
2. Wide Receivers
As for their on-field play and production, you’ve got a group here that can do it all. They can play underneath and in the slot. They can stretch the field and haul in the deep ball. They can go over the middle and complement each other with their route running. They can make tough catches and take hits. They can function as decoys to get others open. And they do it all with a smile and that critical team-before-everything approach, which is a huge part of what makes them and the Kansas offense successful.
1. Running Backs
Here’s how loaded the Kansas running backs room is: Senior Devin Neal has a chance to eclipse some serious milestones and become one of KU’s all-time greats, and he’s not even guaranteed to get half of the carries this season.
And in case you missed it, catch the rest: #6 Tight Ends | #7 Offensive Line | #8 Defensive Line | #9 Linebackers | #10 Special Teams
