The 11th-ranked Kansas volleyball team suffered a hard-fought, four-set home loss to No. 24 BYU on Wednesday night, bringing a sour taste to the final home match at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena in the careers of six seniors.
Caroline Bien, Bryn McGehe, London Davis, Ayah Elnady, Camryn Turner and Toyosi Onabanjo were honored before the match for their contributions to the KU program over the last four years.
BYU then won the first two sets before KU got back on track in Set No. 3. From there, the Jayhawks were just a smidge away from forcing a fifth set, but fell in Set No. 4, 29-27, to drop the match and fall to 23-4 on the season.
KU will close out the regular season on Saturday at Iowa State and then return home to await its NCAA Tournament fate during Sunday's selection show.
The Jayhawks are in. The question now is whether they've done enough to earn the right to host first- and second-round matches for the second year in a row.
Here's a quick look at some of Wednesday's action.
