Lubbock, Texas — The 6th-ranked Kansas men's basketball team suffered a 79-50 drubbing by Texas Tech at United Supermarkets Arena on Monday night.
The loss, which featured a series of calamities, came with KU's leading scorer, Kevin McCullar Jr., sitting out his second consecutive game. It also dropped Kansas to 19-6 overall and 7-5 in Big 12 play, 1-5 in conference road games.
The Jayhawks' latest road loss tied for the third worst margin of defeat in the Self era, coincidentally with another 29-point loss at Texas Tech in 2019. A 34-point loss to USC in the second round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament and a 32-point loss to Kentucky in 2014 rank first and second on that list.
Here's a look back at some of the action and the setting for Monday's setback.
