The 2024 Kansas football season is now officially under way, with the Jayhawks opening preseason camp on Tuesday on the south side of campus.

From here, it's all about position battles, further establishing the KU culture and getting better daily while working toward the final week of the August, when they'll transition to game week ahead of their Aug. 29 season opener against Lindenwood at Children's Mercy Park.

Tuesday, however, was all about the joy of getting back after it and ushering in a season full of promise, hope and unprecedented excitement.

Picked 4th in the preseason Big 12 poll — with a few first-place votes included — the Jayhawks are legitimate contenders in both the Big 12 Conference title race and the push for a College Football Playoff spot now that the field has expanded to 12 teams.

With a ton of talent back on offense, a defense that believes it can be even better this season and a handful of newcomers who figure to contribute right away, the Jayhawks have a good blend of talent & experience as well as accomplishments & expectations entering the 2024 season.

Here's a quick look at a few images from Tuesday's first official practice of the season, with more, including stories and video, to come throughout the month.
