The Kansas men's basketball team lost a game that was described by those who played in it as "a gut-punch," "a heartbreaker," "a shock" and more on Saturday at Allen Fieldhouse.
Despite holding late leads in both regulation and overtime, the 12th-ranked Jayhawks coughed up control both times and watched No. 7 Houston take advantage in the second overtime en route to a 92-86 win.
Houston coach Kelvin Sampson said after the win, "I know the significance of winning here, for anybody. The way we won, I think it speaks to this program's culture and how tough our kids are."
KU coach Bill Self, on the other hand, emphasized what a "great college basketball game" it was on Saturday night, saying, "we played really well and (our) kids played their ass off; obviously just didn't make plays when it counted the most."
The loss dropped Kansas to 14-5 overall and 5-3 in Big 12 play. Houston, meanwhile, improved to 16-3 overall and 8-0 in Big 12 play.
Here's a look back at some of Saturday's action.
