Kansas City, Missouri — The Kansas women's basketball team advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Big 12 tournament with a 77-53 win over BYU on Friday at T-Mobile Center.
KU outscored BYU 42-20 in the second half after giving up 19 points in the first quarter and trailing by two entering the second.
From there, the Jayhawks' offense kept going and the defense locked down the Cougars, who fell victim to Kansas three times this season.
Next up, KU will play 2nd-seeded Texas at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at T-Mobile Center.
