Kansas Ahtletic Director Travis Goff said Thursday that he and his staff had been pleasantly surprised by the efforts and progress of the construction at the site of the former David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium, where work is under way on the school's $448 million Gateway District project.
A mild winter and solid pace have allowed the crews to move quickly, even working as close to on schedule as possible during the brutally cold week that hit the area earlier this winter.
With the demo done, work has moved ahead on the additions to the Anderson Family Football Complex as well as the preparation for the early stages of construction on the new portion of the stadium.
The plan remains for KU to have the new stadium open in time for the start of the 2025 Kansas football season.
We'll keep an eye on the progress, but here's how things looked this week.
