The 22nd-ranked Kansas football team on Wednesday completed its 13th of 15 practices during 2024 preseason camp, the latest sign that the season is almost here.
KU will kick off the 2024 campaign in just two weeks — 7 p.m. on Aug. 29 vs. Lindenwood at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan. — and while the work being done in camp continues to be on the fundamentals and finding out who fits where, the Jayhawks are starting to turn one eye toward being ready for the regular season.
Some positions are set. Others remain a work in progress. And everyone in a KU uniform continues to put in the kind of work that makes it look like they're expecting to start.
Some will. Many won't. But the work being done in camp — the way it looks, sounds and feels — is yet another indicator of just how far the program has come in head coach Lance Leipold's four seasons in charge.
Camp will wrap up with two more practices Thursday and Friday and then the Jayhawks will transition into getting ready for game week.
Here's a look at some of the action from Wednesday.
