The 8th-ranked Kansas volleyball team didn't have its best throughout Thursday's Sunflower Showdown match against Kansas State at Horejsi Family Volleyball Arena.

But the Jayhawks had what they needed when it mattered most.

After dropping the first and third sets of the night to fall into a 2-1 hole, KU won the fourth 25-20 and then dominated the fifth en route to a 15-10 victory that gave Kansas the match — 19-25, 25-15, 22-25, 25-20, 15-10.

The win moved the Jayhawks to 15-1 overall and 6-0 in Big 12 play and was their first 5-set match of the season. KU coach Ray Bechard said after the victory that it was good for his team to get a taste of that sudden-death finish because he anticipates that they'll face more of those in the weeks ahead.

Next up, the Jayhawks will travel to Florida on Friday for a weekend match with UCF on Saturday before returning home to take on Iowa State next weekend.

Here's a look back at some of Thursday's action.
