Manhattan, Kansas — Throughout each season, there are interesting notes and nuggets of information that come out of every game, win or lose.
Here’s a quick look at some of the more interesting and noteworthy facts and stats from KU's latest loss, a 29-27 heartbreaker at Kansas State on Saturday night.

Offensive Notes
• Senior running back Devin Neal scored a 24-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter, eclipsing the Kansas football career record with his 44th career touchdown (41 rushing, 3 receiving). With his 41st career rushing touchdown, Neal also matched the school record held by June Henley. During the game, Neal surpassed Tony Sands for No. 2 in career rushing yards at Kansas, and he now sits just seven yards shy of Henley’s school record for career rushing yards with 3,835.
• Redshirt junior quarterback Jalon Daniels completed 18-of-31 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown, completing a 10-yard touchdown to Luke Grimm in the second quarter. Daniels now has 42 career touchdown passes, which ranks No. 2 in school history. Daniels added 66 rushing yards and a touchdown on a season-high 15 carries.
• Senior wide receiver Luke Grimm hauled in his fifth receiving touchdown of the season and 22nd of his career in the second quarter. Grimm, who ranks No. 2 in Kansas football history for receiving touchdowns, finished with seven receptions for 66 yards in the game. Grimm also moved to No. 5 in career receiving yards with 2,211, passing Mark Simmons, who had 2,161 yards as a Jayhawk from 2002-05.
• Senior wide receiver Lawrence Arnold had five receptions for 24 yards, also surpassing Simmons on the career list. Arnold now has 2,177 career yards, which ranks sixth in school history.
• Redshirt junior running back Sevion Morrison capped off KU’s first drive with a 38-yard touchdown run, his second of the season and fourth of his career at Kansas. Morrison finished the game with three carries for 45 yards and a score.
• Redshirt senior wide receiver Trevor Wilson had a season-high four receptions for 69 yards. This is the fifth time that Wilson has had four or more receptions in a game during his Kansas career, and first since last season at Oklahoma State (Oct. 14, 2023).
Defensive Notes
• Senior linebacker JB Brown led the team with eight tackles, which included four solo tackles. Brown recovered a Kansas State fumble in the third quarter, his second career fumble recovery at Kansas and the first since last season vs. Oklahoma (Oct. 28, 2023).
• Senior defensive tackle Caleb Taylor had two tackles-for-loss, matching his career-high vs. South Dakota in 2021.
• Redshirt junior linebacker Jayson Gilliom matches his career high of five tackles that he had last season at Iowa State (Nov. 4, 2023).
• Redshirt freshman Taylor Davis made his second consecutive start and recorded five tackles, one short of his career-high of six set at Arizona State earlier this season.
• Senior safety Marvin Grant recorded his fourth career sack, all of which have come this season.
• Senior defensive end Jereme Robinson recorded a sack on Saturday, marking 4.5 this season, which marks a new season-high. Robinson now has 13 career sacks.
