Throughout each season, there are interesting notes and nuggets of information that come out of every game, win or lose.

Here’s a quick look at some of the more interesting and noteworthy facts and stats from KU's home loss to unbeaten UNLV on Friday night.

The loss dropped KU to 1-2 on the season. Next up, Kansas will play at West Virginia during the opening week of Big 12 Conference play. Kickoff on Sept. 21 is slated for 11 a.m.

Team Notes

• Kansas is now 607-681-58 all-time, including 18-23 in the Lance Leipold era.
• KU is 11-10 in home games under Leipold, 6-3 since the start of the 2023 season
• Kansas is 15-5-1 against current members of the Mountain West and 2-1 against Mountain West opponents under Lance Leipold
• Kansas is 10-9 under Leipold when playing night games

Offensive Notes

• With 153 yards passing, redshirt junior Jalon Daniels surpassed Chip Hilleary (1989-92), Jason Bean (2021-23) and Mike Norseth (1984-85) in career passing yards at Kansas. Daniels now sits in sixth place with 4,739 total passing yards.
• Daniels also passed Kelly Donohoe (1986-89) and Carter Stanley (2016-19) for all-time total yards at KU. Daniels now sits in fifth in total offensive yards with 5,433 yards.
• Daniels recorded his first rushing touchdown of the season on KU’s opening drive of the contest. The rushing score marked the 14th of his career. Daniels would find the end zone with his legs again in the second quarter. Daniels’ two rushing touchdowns marked the third time in his career with multiple rushing touchdowns. Daniels now has 15 career rushing touchdowns.
• Devin Neal rushed for 120 yards, marking his third-straight game with 100 yards or more rushing this season and the second time he has rushed for 100-plus in three straight contests in his career. Dating back to last season, Neal has rushed for 100-plus yards in six of his last seven games.
• Neal’s 120 yards marked his 15th career 100-yard rushing game which ties James Sims (2010-13) for the second most in KU history. Tony Sands (1988-91) holds the record with 17.
• Senior WR Lawrence Arnold had four receptions for 58 yards. He now has 131 career receptions which is tied for eighth on the KU career receptions list with Brandon Rideau (2001-04). His 1,990 career receiving yards are seventh on the KU career list and 10 yards shy of 2,000 receiving yards.
• Senior TE Trevor Kardell caught two passes for the game to mark the fourth time in his career he has had multiple receptions in a game.

Defensive Notes

• Senior DE Jereme Robinson recorded his second sack of the season in the second quarter for a nine-yard loss. He also had a sack in the opener against Lindenwood and now has 10.5 sacks for his career. Robinson finished with a career-high 3.5 tackles for loss in the game and now has 23.5 TFLs for his career.
• Redshirt senior DE Dylan Wudke had one tackle for loss, the second of his Kansas career.
• Senior LB JB Brown led Kansas with eight total tackles (seven solo), one shy of his career high of nine. He also had 1.5 tackles for loss, giving him 3.0 TFL for the season and 7.5 for his career.
• Senior LB Cornell Wheeler had seven tackles (six solo) and has 15 tackles in his last two games. Wheeler also recorded his third pass deflection and second forced fumble of the season.
• Senior CB Mello Dotson posted six tackles, all solo, and one tackle for loss, his first of the season and fifth of his career. He also had one pass breakup, his second of the season and ninth of his career.

Special Teams Notes

• Senior PK Tabor Allen was 2-for-2 on field goals tonight and is 3-for-3 on the season. His 41-yarder in the fourth quarter was his career long.
