No. 16 Kansas picked up an important, 69-52 win over No. 8 Iowa State on Monday night at Allen Fieldhouse, avenging an earlier loss to the Cylcones in Ames, Iowa, and bouncing back from a tough collapse over the weekend at Baylor.

The win moved KU to 16-6 overall and 7-4 in Big 12 play, setting up a huge showdown in a rematch with K-State in Manhattan on Saturday afternoon.

Here's a look at some of the more notable numbers and stats to come from Monday's win over Iowa State.

TEAM NOTES

• Kansas held Iowa State to just 30.6 percent (19-for-62) shooting in Monday’s victory. That percentage marks the lowest by Iowa State in any game this season and the lowest since they shot 23.3 percent (14-for-60) in a loss to Pittsburgh in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Mar. 17, 2023.

• Kansas moves to a perfect 38-0 under Bill Self inside Allen Fieldhouse on ESPN’s “Big Monday”. The last time Kansas hosted a “Big Monday” game resulted in an 88-80 win over Texas on Feb. 6, 2023.

• Kansas held Iowa State to 52 points. That is the lowest point total allowed to an AP Top 10 team by Kansas since Feb. 9, 1982 vs. #4 Missouri (42 points).

• Kansas held No. 8 Iowa State to 19 points in the first half. That is the lowest point total in a half allowed to an AP Top 10 team by Kansas since at least the 1996-97 season. Iowa State has not been held under 20 points in a half this season, and the 19 opening half points mark the lowest for the Cyclones since Dec. 12, 2021, against Jackson State, where the Cyclones also scored 19 points.

• Kansas is 8-0 when their opponent scores 59 points or less, with the last win coming against Cincinnati on Jan. 11, 2025.

INDIVIDUAL NOTES

• Senior center Hunter Dickinson notched 14 points in Monday’s win over the Cyclones. Dickinson has now recorded 134 games in his collegiate career with double-digit points. Dickinson also posted nine rebounds in the contest, marking his 12th game this season where he has accomplished that feat.

• Senior forward KJ Adams eclipsed the 1,000 career point mark in Monday’s win. KJ Adams becomes the seventh member of the team to reach 1,000 career points, it took Adams 126 games to reach the feat. Adams finished the game with six points, five assists, and three rebounds while going perfect from the free throw line. Adams’ five assists tie his season high, where he also recorded five assists against UNC-Wilmington on Nov. 19, 2024.

• Senior point guard Dajuan Harris Jr. scored 12 points, good for his 12th game scoring 10 or more points this season and the 51st of his career. Harris added four rebounds, four assists, and a steal.

• Senior guard Zeke Mayo led the team with 17 points on 6-for-13 shooting, including five-for-six from three-point range. It is the fifth game this season that Mayo has hit five or more threes in a game, and the 17th of his career. Mayo also chipped in eight rebounds, which marked the fifth time he has pulled down eight or more boards this season. Monday’s win moves Kansas to 6-0 when Mayo hits five or more threes.

• Freshman forward Flory Bidunga recorded four blocks in the win over the Cyclones. Bidunga moves into a tie with Cliff Alexander (2014-15) and Josh Jackson (2016-17) for sixth all time on the Kansas all time freshman block leaderboard with 37. Kansas is 5-1 all time when Bidunga records multiple blocks. Bidunga also added four points in the win.
