With more significant renovations coming to KU's basketball arena in the not-too-distant future, the first signs of the recent offseason upgrades surfaced Tuesday night before KU's 71-63 win over Eastern Illinois.
For the first time this season, KU flashed its new pregame light show during the starting lineup introductions. With red and blue lights chasing themselves throughout Allen Fieldhouse, the scene starts when KU's pregame video begins to roll, after the opponent is introduced.
The lights turn low and the place turns into a crimson and blue hue, with just enough of a light show to change the vibe but not too much as to be over the top or obnoxious.
Here's a quick look at the new intro. The rest of the renovations will take place in the offseason, with upgrades to concessions areas, the concourses and more coming to the historic hoops fieldhouse.
